Will I have to talk about the trauma in detail?

Not until you are ready, and sometimes not at all. Our work focuses on what the trauma left behind, such as fear, shame, or beliefs about yourself and God. We move at your pace, never faster. Stories of what this process has looked like for others are on my reviews page.

Can anxiety really be healed, or just managed?

I believe anxiety can be healed at the root, not just managed. When the underlying wounds are addressed and replaced with truth, many of my clients experience lasting peace. I will also teach you practical tools for the moments when fear tries to return. My background and counseling approach shape every step of that process.

Trauma changes the way you see the world, and anxiety often follows close behind. You may feel on edge for no reason, replay old memories, or avoid situations that once felt normal. Veterans, first responders, survivors of abuse, and people who grew up in chaotic homes all carry this in different ways. From my south Lubbock office and online, I work with anyone who is ready to stop managing the symptoms and start addressing the source. I have a special heart for those who have served. Many of my clients also find that grief counseling is part of the same healing journey.

My approach combines practical tools with biblical truth and prayer. I help you identify the specific moments that shaped your fear, the lies that took root in those moments, and the ways they still drive your reactions today. This is careful, gentle work. Nothing is forced, and you are never asked to relive something before you are ready.

Anxiety often has roots that go deeper than the current stress. Racing thoughts, panic, and constant worry frequently trace back to a time when you were not safe. As those roots are exposed and healed, the anxiety loses its grip. My clients describe finally being able to rest, to think clearly, and to trust God with things they used to try to control.

For veterans and others living with PTSD, I provide a safe, confidential setting where military experience is respected and understood. I do not treat faith as a quick fix. It is the foundation for a real process of restoration that honors what you have been through. Spouses and families affected by a loved one's trauma are welcome too, and family counseling can run alongside individual work.

I offer times of inner healing prayer for those who need healing from trauma and broken hearts. Much of this work is about forgiveness, letting go of fear, and learning to live in the freedom Christ offers. Sessions are available in person in Lubbock or online.
